About SBCS
Solihull Bereavement Counselling Service (SBCS) was established in 1987 and has a team of dedicated professionals and trained volunteers who provide a sensitive service for people living or working in Solihull.
Our purpose is to help bereaved people to come to terms with their grief in the way most appropriate to them, and to help identify ways of moving on with their lives.
The service is confidential, we work individually with adults and children. As an additional service we offer training and education to other organisations both in the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Counselling is provided by a team of specially recruited, trained and supervised volunteers. Additional volunteers are recruited on an annual basis and the current team of 35 volunteers provided approximately 1,398 hours of counselling during 2010/2011.
The service conforms to guidelines set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
